Pick up from your hotel in Fes early in the morning and depart toward the south of Morocco. You will stop in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” to enjoy its unique architecture and take memorable photos. Continue to Azrou to visit the cedar forest, where you can see Barbary monkeys in their natural habitat.
The journey continues to Midelt, where you will stop for lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, cross the Tizi n’Talghemt Pass and drive through Errachidia while admiring the impressive views of the Ziz Gorges. You will also stop for a panoramic view over the Ziz Valley, famous for its vast palm groves.
Continue toward the Erg Chebbi dunes, passing through Aoufous and Erfoud, a town known for its fossils and dates, where you may visit a local fossil workshop. Upon arrival in Merzouga, prepare for your camel trek, riding for about 1.5 hours across the golden dunes to enjoy a spectacular sunset.
