The 8 Days Nomad Morocco Adventure Desert Camel Trekking is a unique and immersive journey through the hidden gems of southern Morocco. Starting from Marrakech, this tour takes you far beyond the classic routes into remote deserts, authentic Berber villages, and ancient caravan paths.
You will cross the High Atlas Mountains and visit the historic Telouet Kasbah before arriving in Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the Sahara. The journey continues through the palm groves of Skoura, the Valley of Roses, and the spectacular landscapes of Dades Gorges and Todra Gorge.
Heading deeper into the desert, you will reach Merzouga, where you will enjoy a camel trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi and spend a magical night in a desert camp. The adventure continues through remote and less-visited such as Ouzina and Ramlia, offering an authentic nomadic experience away from mass tourism.
You will then travel to Zagora and Mhamid, the last village before the vast dunes of Erg Chegaga one of the wildest and most untouched areas of the Sahara Desert.
This 8-day adventure combines culture, nature, and exploration, ending back in Marrakech with unforgettable memories of Morocco’s diverse landscapes.
After breakfast, Nomad Adventure starts early with departure to Telouet via the High Atlas Mountains, passing through the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, which reaches 2,260 m. Upon arrival, we will visit the Kasbah of Pacha Glaoui in Telouet and enjoy lunch on site.
In the afternoon, we continue our journey to Ait Benhaddou, traveling through the Ounila Valley with its traditional Berber villages and stunning landscapes. From there, we proceed to Ouarzazate, where you will have time to explore or relax. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel, offering comfort after a full day of scenic and cultural discoveries.
Leaving Ouarzazate around 8:30 am, we head towards Skoura for a quick 20-minute visit of the Amredhyle Kasbah, one of the highlights of the southern route of the Thousand Kasbahs. We then continue our journey through the Valley of the Roses, crossing 50 km of off-road tracks and passing by Ait Youl Kasbah, experiencing the authentic landscapes of the region.
Before reaching Boumalne, we will enjoy lunch atop the Dades Gorges, taking in the breathtaking panoramic views. Continuing on, we arrive in Tinghir and 20 km further, marvel at the stunning Todra Gorges Canyons with their dramatic cliffs. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a hotel, providing a comfortable and relaxing end to a day full of adventure, culture, and spectacular scenery.
In the morning, we take a walk around the Tinerghir Palm Plantations, enjoying the lush greenery and traditional irrigation systems. We then drive to Tinjdad for lunch and visit the Touroug Palm Plantations, soaking in the scenic beauty of the Draa Valley. Upon reaching Erfoud, we stop at a local fossil craft workshop to discover Morocco’s unique geological heritage and artisanal treasures.
Continuing our journey, we arrive at the mesmerizing dunes of Erg Chebbi, the iconic Merzouga sands. Here, we transition from our 4×4 to camels for an unforgettable ride across the dunes, witnessing the stunning sunset over the golden sands. We arrive at a true nomad bivouac where you will spend the night, enjoying traditional Berber hospitality, dinner under the stars, and the magical silence of the desert.
Early in the morning, we rise to admire the magical sunrise over the dunes, then return on camels to the base of Erg Chebbi. After breakfast, we depart for the village of Khamlia, famous for its Gnaoua musicians, with a stop to enjoy traditional mint tea at a local Gnaoua house.
From there, we continue to Taouz to explore the remarkable petroglyphs and rock engravings. Our journey then descends along the Ziz Wadi following the historic Paris-Dakar track, passing through small, remote desert villages like Ouzina, where we will stop for lunch, and Ramlia. After Ramlia, we cross the sandy stretches of Wadi Rheris and follow the mountain track leading to M’harch. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a hotel, offering comfort after a full day of desert adventure, cultural discovery, and scenic landscapes.
After breakfast, we depart for Zagora following the historic Paris-Dakar track, crossing vast desert plains, rocky hamadas, and encountering nomadic tents along the way. The journey offers unique opportunities to experience the solitude and beauty of the Moroccan desert landscapes. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a hotel in Zagora, providing comfort and relaxation after a full day of exploration and adventure.
After the breakfast, departure for Tamegroute and visit of Zaouïa, the old Koranic library,the craftsmen of pottery and a Kasbah underground ; then one continues towards MÃ hamid and lunch on the place. In the afternoon we will take a track which carries out towards the dunes of cheguagua to see the sun set and spend the night in the Bivouac. Dinner and over night in a bivouac.
Wake up early in the morning to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, we depart for Foum Zguid, passing by nomadic tents, the dry lake of Iriqui, and vast desert plains dotted with Kassia plants, where we will enjoy a picnic lunch on site. We then continue our journey to Ouarzazate via Taznakht, taking in the scenic landscapes and traditional Berber villages along the way. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a hotel, offering comfort after a day full of desert adventure and stunning natural beauty.
After breakfast, we depart to visit the town of Ouarzazate, including the historic Kasbah of Taourirt and the famous Cinema Studio. Afterwards, we drive back to Marrakech via the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass over the High Atlas Mountains, whose peaks remain snow-capped for most of the year. Along the winding roads, admire the timeless landscapes and traditional Berber villages that dot the mountains. Upon arrival in Marrakech, the tour concludes, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Morocco’s deserts, mountains, and cultural treasures.
